Alumni Spotlight: Travis Wright at the National Guard Bureau Counterdrug Office

Thanks to Travis Wright, MSPM ’10, for sharing the following:

I wanted to give you a quick update on how I am putting my degree to use already.  I work for the National Guard Bureau Counterdrug office and we have used the same funding model for the past 20 years.  For the past 3 years we have been searching for a process to more efficiently distribute these funds in a way that would withstand political and practical scrutiny.  Using techniques I learned in the MSPM program and with help from Drs. Prasad and Forman, we have revamped our funding process.  This will allow us to more efficiently fund 54 programs (50 states, 3 territories and the District) and provide measurement of those funds.  I truly believe my leadership was more accepting of my ideas based on the stature of the GW name and the quality of the education I received.
