GW-CIBER Global Business Project 2012 Information Session

GW-CIBER Global Business Project 2012 Information Session
Tuesday, October 11th at 6:00pm
Duquès Hall, Room 320
The Global Business Project (GBP) is a graduate-level three-credit course offered in Spring 2012 and sponsored by a consortium of twelve CIBERs at leading business schools. GBP places students in multi-university teams to work on real problems that corporations and NGOs are currently facing. Each team works virtually for seven weeks in the United States prior to an intensive two-week consulting project abroad. The prospective destination countries for GBP 2012 are Brazil, China, India, and Thailand.
Who is eligible?
Any GW MBA/PMBA or MA/MS student can apply to the program. The GBP course may be taken in place of the required International Residency class for first year GMBA students. Please be aware that proficiency in the destination country’s language will be a factor in the selection. Students without language proficiency may still apply but it is expected that you will have acquired at least basic-level knowledge of the language by the time of travel. Students in their final semester of school are permitted to take the course, provided that the credits are not needed for graduation (since final completion of the course takes place after spring graduation).
Costs of Program:
In order to participate, accepted students pay a fee of $1,500, which includes accommodations and meals for kick-off weekends in Washington, DC in March 2012 and in the Hub city of the destination country in May 2012. Additionally, students must pay for their roundtrip airfare to the destination country as well as for most meals while there. The companies that will be hosting the GBP teams will cover all in-country travel and accommodation expenses.
