DNSC 6267 Planning & Scheduling Software Resources

All current MSPM students have access to DreamSpark to download Microsoft software, including Microsoft Project. Read the instructions on registering with DreamSpark and downloading the software prior to contacting the MSPM office with questions. When registering on the DreamSpark site, be sure to use your @gwmail.gwu.edu email address. Students will then create their own password for the DreamSpark site. Links to DreamSpark and the instructions (PDF file) are included in the Resources tab on this site.

Information on downloading VM Fusion is also available on www.gwprojectmanagement.org, see the Resources tab.  Students using a Mac who need to create a virtual PC environment to run Project will need to download VM Fusion.

New to Microsoft Project? GW offers training resources through SkillPort. Information on logging on to the site and searching for online training for Microsoft Project is detailed on the GW Division of IT site. Please direct your requests for support to either teachme@gwu.edu or the IT Support Center at 202-994-GWIT (4948).

Changes and Updates to Blackboard and Lecture Capture in Spring 2014

Students will experience several changes to the technology utilized in the MSPM program.

1. An additional login is required to watch the lecture capture. In Blackboard, you’ll select the link to watch the recorded lecture. Prior to viewing the recording, the Echo 360 site will ask that you enter a username and password. Enter your NetID and the same password used to log in to your email and on to Blackboard. Your NetID is the text to the left of the @ sign in your email. For example, if your email is mspmstudent@gwmail.gwu.edu, you NetID is mspmstudent.

2. A new version of Blackboard was released over the winter break. Take some time over the weekend to navigate through the updated version to discover new features and system improvements.

3. The use of iTunes U for course lectures and recordings was discontinued December 26, 2013. Beginning in the 2014 spring semester, ColonialCast Lecture Capture will be solely powered by the Echo360 service. With this service change, all future lecture capture content will be stored and delivered through the Echo360 platform.
