NCAIED American Indian Business Scholarship Program

The program just learned of this scholarship opportunity from the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development. Application deadline is September 5, 2014. Scholarship eligibility criteria is below with full details online:

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Must be majoring in a business related field
  • Must be a junior, senior or graduate student
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student
  • Must be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
  • If selected, candidate must be able to attend the NCAIED Scholarship Awards¬†Luncheon

Students should submit the following:

  • Completed Application
  • Official State or Federal Tribal enrollment document
  • Personal Essay on the following (250 min-350 max words per category):
    • Personal challenges you overcame in pursuit of higher education
    • Community involvement
    • Reason for pursuing higher education in business
    • Business Related Experience (Paid or Volunteer)
    • Plans following completion of degree program
    • Activities and commitment to community to be considered
  • Official Transcripts (sealed and signed)
  • Official Letter of Admission/Enrollment for 2014-2015 academic year
  • Copy of class schedule for Fall semester

MS in Project Management Orientation Student & Alumni Reception, 15 Aug

The GW MS in Project Management Alumni Network cordially invites alumni and current students to connect at the program’s fall orientation. This will be a great opportunity to welcome the incoming class of MSPM students.

Hors d’ouevres, beer and wine will be served. While there is no charge to attend the event, registration is requested. Event will be held from 6:30 to 8 pm on Friday, 15 Aug, in Duques Hall, 6th floor.

Last Day to Withdraw from Summer Session 2, 1 Aug

Friday, 1 Aug, is the last day to withdraw from a course with a grade of “W” using a Registration Transaction Form for Summer Session 2 classes.

Need-Based Scholarship Deadline, 24 Jul

Thursday, 24 Jul, is the deadline to apply for the need-based scholarships available for the fall 2014 semester. Details on the criteria and application process are available on the blog at www.gwprojectmanagement.org.

Essays received with spelling errors, poor grammar, or formatting issues receive less consideration than those that exhibit graduate-level writing. Take full advantage of the GW resources that your tuition payments fund, such as the GW Writing Center or the English for Academic Purposes Program.

Graduate Fellow Position, GW Military and Veteran Career Services

The Interdisciplinary Career Services Initiatives office within the GW Center for Career Services is looking to fill their Graduate Fellow for Interdisciplinary Initiatives position for the 2014-2015 academic year. The fellow will participate as a member of the team charged with advancing career services and resources for military-related students including current service, veterans and military families.

Fellow is paid an hourly rate and is expected to work 20-25 hours per week. Must be a current GW graduate student that is either a veteran, active duty service member, or dependent to fill the position. 1 More Volunteer Needed for Fall Orientation

One additional volunteer is needed to assist with the bridge game during the fall 2014 MSPM orientation scheduled on Friday, 15 Aug. Fall 2014 Need-Based Scholarships, 24 Jul Deadline

Need-based scholarship funding has been made available to current MSPM students in the fall 2014 semester. The program will award up to three scholarships, each in the amount of $2,500. Full details on the need-based scholarships, the eligibility criteria, and the application is available on www.gwprojectmanagement.org. Applications must be submitted on or before 11:59pm EDT Thursday, July 24, 2014; late applications will not be accepted.

Scholarship applicants are encouraged to utilize the University Writing Center or the English for Academic Purposes Program to ensure that they put forward a graduate-level writing effort. Essays received with spelling errors, poor grammar, or formatting issues receive less consideration than those that exhibit graduate-level writing.

10-Month Annual Payment Plan Enrollment, 10 Jul Deadline

GW has partnered with ECSI to offer an interest-free monthly payment plan available to all students. For those interested in the annual plan, you may spread your tuition payments out over a 10-month period. The first deadline to sign up for the service is Thursday, 10 Jul. Those who sign up by 10 Jul will pay a reduced application fee of $55. Details are available on the Student Accounts Office website.

Last Day to Add/Drop Summer Session II Courses, 13 Jul Deadline

Sunday, 13 Jul, is the last day to add a class using the GWeb Information System, and to drop a class using any means, for Summer Session II. After this date students must use a Registration Transaction Form to make changes to their schedule. GWeb registration is available from 7am – 10pm.

Please also be aware of the refund schedule for summer courses, as the policies differ from the regular schedule. Failure to plan or to take action could cost you money.

Fall 2014 Need-Based Scholarships Announced for Current MSPM Students – Jul 24, 2014 Deadline

Need-based scholarship funding has been made available to current MSPM students in the fall 2014 semester. Up to three scholarships will be awarded.

MSPM 201403 Need-Based Scholarship Application

Overview of scholarship guidelines:

  • Up to three scholarships will be awarded, each in the amount of $2,500
  • Must be registered for a minimum of 3 credits in the fall 2014 semester
  • Must have been enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits or on an approved Leave of Absence in the spring 2014 semester
  • Student must be in good standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Video or essay required
  • Full guidelines and eligibility criteria are included in the applications

Deadline to apply is July 24, 2014. Review the application in detail for the full list of guidelines, eligibility criteria, and the complete application process. Be mindful of spelling, grammar, and formatting in your essays. All students are encouraged to utilize the University Writing Center to ensure they put forward a graduate-level writing effort.
