New student orientation will be held at 9:30am and 10:30am in the Marvin Center. The tailgate and BBQ will start at 11:30am and run to 3:00pm on University Yard.

•Fall 2015 Blackboard Collaborate Schedule Now Available
The Fall 2015 Blackboard Collaborate schedule is available on the blog. These live sessions are designed for the online/distance students to engage with their professors on a weekly basis, investigating the week’s lecture in more detail and asking any questions of the professor regarding the material or assignments.
The Atlantic Council is seeking applications for the Take Point Initiative, a fellowship program open to veterans of the United States Armed Forces who are 35 years old and younger and who currently work in, or would like to transition to, careers in international policy. The program includes opportunities to network with potential employers and funders, deepen their substantive policy expertise, and build nonprofit and thought leadership skills over the course of an intensive ten-day fellowship program in Washington, DC planned for October 13 – 23, 2015. Additionally, the Council will award over $60,000 in grant funds to Take Point fellows to support their work. In turn, fellows will commit to using their training to help provide a voice for other young veterans in the foreign policy discourse, including injured veterans.

The George Washington University Division of Information Technology (IT) Project and Portfolio Management Office (PPMO) is hosting an inaugural Project Management Symposium on Monday, September 21, 2015. This is a one-day event created for the exchanging and sharing of knowledge of project management practices in higher education.

Lockers will be available to graduate students on a first-come first-serve basis in the fall 2015 semester. Lockers are located outside of the Graduate Lounge on the 5th floor of Duques Hall. Request a locker via http://goo.gl/z2AH8D. You may begin requesting lockers on the first day of the semester, 31 Aug, at 9 a.m. EDT, no earlier. Lockers are available for $35 per semester (small) or $65 per semester (large). Payment may be made via check or money order.
•Scholarships Available, 7 Aug Deadline Scholarship funding is available for current MSPM students in the fall 2015 semester. The program will award five $4,000 scholarships to currently enrolled students. Full details on the scholarship eligibility criteria, application requirements, and deadlines are available on www.gwprojectmanagement.org.
Applicants are encouraged to utilize the University Writing Center or the English for Academic Purposes Program to ensure they put forth a graduate-level writing effort. Applications and/or essays received with spelling errors, poor grammar, or formatting issues receive less consideration than those that exhibit graduate-level writing.
Starting Fall 2015, the lockers outside of the Graduate Lounge on the 5th floor of Duques Hall will be made available to all GWSB graduate students. Lockers will be available on a first-come first-serve basis.
