Top 3 for 29 August 2017:
1- Welcome back returning students and welcome to GW for our new MSPM students! I hope you all had a relaxing summer and are ready to begin the fall semester. This is an exciting time to be in the program as GWSB has launched several graduate certificate programs that you may combine with your masters, effective Fall 2017.
Get to know the incoming Fall 2017 class via the latest Bio Book. Interested in learning about current students in the program? You can view previous Bio Books under the Resources tab at www.gwprojectmanagement.org.
2- Confirm your Fall 2017 schedule by logging into GWeb. Look up your class schedule via the Student Records & Registration Menu under Student Schedule by Date and Time. Blackboard is not the place to go to confirm your registration. Remember that Blackboard portal will not be available until your instructor turns it on. Blackboard for DNSC 6261 Intro to Project Management and DNSC 6269 Project Management Application (Capstone) will be available on the first day of the class. Blackboard portal for DNSC 6247 Organization Management and Leadership for campus students will likely be open on first day of class as well. Contact your course instructor if you are unable to view Blackboard on first day of class.
3- Fall 2017 Blackboard Collaborate Session Reminder. The Blackboard Collaborate Session schedule for Fall 2017 is posted on the blog. Collaborate sessions are 60-minute virtual sessions designed for the online and campus students to engage with their professors on a weekly basis. It is highly recommended for all MSPM students. Joining the Blackboard Collaborate sessions gives student an opportunity to ask questions related to previous lecture, readings, assignments or logistics of the class. Check out schedule via this link. Note that instructor may change the schedule at any time. Students will be notified by instructor if changes occur.

Alumni Industry Networks: Virtual Networking Hour
||Wednesday, August 23 | 12-1pm ET (Online)
GW alumni all over the world can connect to share experiences, exchange career tips, and build their professional networks over a series of eight minute text-based chats. You’ll be able to pick an industry cluster (from our current Alumni Industry Networks) that you’d like to network with throughout the hour (you can choose more than one!).
Top 3 for 15 August
1- Review summer grades, academic policies and requirements. Students should review their grades for courses taken in summer 2017 semester. Contact your instructor for any missing grades. Now is also a good time to go over the academic policies. GW’s general requirements, including information on grades appears under University Regulations in the Bulletin. Details on academic probation, grades of F, suspension, and incompletes are available under the GWSB Graduate Programs website. Each student is required to know these requirements and regulations. If you have questions about your academic standing, schedule an advisement session with Agnes Socrates via www.meetme.so/gwmspm
2- Fall 2017 Textbooks. List of fall 2017 textbooks is now available on the blog. Please check list via this link. Email your course instructor with any questions regarding textbooks. Note that the GW bookstore has moved all course materials, including ALL required and recommended textbooks, to only be available online at GWShops.com. Therefore, students will NOT be able to purchase books on campus, the day of classes as it was done before. Please consider this change as you plan to purchase your books for the fall 2017 semester.
3- Registering for DNSC 6254 Risk Management (1.5) or DNSC 6257 Cost Estimation and Control (1.5) in the fall semester? Some of you are unable to self-register for DNSC 6254 and DNSC 6257 even though you have completed the prerequisites for these courses. If you are one of these students, you must register via a Registration Transaction Form (RTF), not via GWeb. Submit a completed RTF to Agnes Socrates by email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Details for the form, such as the course CRN and section are found on the Schedule of Classes under Decision Sciences.
