Dear MSPM Students,
Here are the top things you need to know for March 10, 2020:

GWSB Update on COVID-19

Many of you asked questions regarding the coronavirus contingency plan. Please read the Dean’s message below and continue to check the University website for updates on COVID-19.

Dear GWSB Community,
I recognize that the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 adds considerable stress to managing our academic, professional and personal lives.  I want you to know we share your concerns, and you are on the top of our mind as we navigate the situation together.

GWSB’s operations are aligned with the University regarding educational activities on campus. Currently, there is no guidance to suspend standard modes of delivery of classes, and the university remains open. If the guidance changes, GWSB is prepared to adapt quickly, and we will share the appropriate information with you to be able continue your classes.

We recognize that some students may have specific reasons for not attending a class.  In this case, faculty are to use their judgment to be accommodating insofar as possible.  I encourage students with any concerns to reach out to our advising offices, so we can help connect students with appropriate university resources.

Please stay updated through official sources: World Health OrganizationCenters for Disease Control and our GW community site for the university’s  official updates. The health and safety of our community remains our number one priority.

We should be mindful about making assumptions or generalizations about anyone in our university community who may be impacted.  This is our chance to demonstrate our commitment and support for one another.  Together we are stronger in any challenge.

We will continue to monitor, plan and communicate additional updates as the Covid-19 situation evolves.

Please stay safe, healthy and mindful as we approach Spring break.

All the best,
Anuj Mehrotra, Ph.D.

GWSB Online Happy hours are fun, informal networking events. Participants log in to our online classroom system, Blackboard Collaborate, and interact using webcams and microphones. After an opening toast, participants are placed into virtual small groups for conversation. Following group introductions, our discussion will focus on the question, “What types of skills do today’s consultants need to stand out from the crowd?” About halfway through the event, participants will be placed in a second group and repeat the networking process. The event will end with a short plenary debrief conversation.
