Columbian Women of The George Washington University Scholarship, Due March 13, 2017

The Columbian Women of The George Washington University scholarship application is now open.  Each year, Columbian Women awards $90,000 in scholarships to women attending GWU. Scholarships are provided to students of all GWU schools; it is not limited to students in Columbian College.

The objective of The Columbian Women Scholarship (TUITION ONLY) is to recognize and assist women pursuing a degree program in any field of study at The George Washington University who demonstrate a high level of achievement in academia and a commitment to their chosen profession.

The Columbian Women Scholarship is based on merit and financial need. Applicants are first evaluated for financial need; applicants meeting the need criteria typically have an expected family contribution of less than $10,000 as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All applicants are required to complete a FAFSA application prior to applying for a Columbian Women Scholarship.

Awards will only be made for the 2017-2018 academic year. Although award amounts may vary, approximately $90,000 will be awarded in 2017-2018 with most individual awards ranging between $5,000 and $10,000. Scholarship awards will cover tuition costs only.

Presidential Management Fellows Program (PMF)

The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program is a flagship leadership development program at the entry level for advanced degree candidates. It is administered by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Each year, candidates apply to the program in efforts to be selected as Finalists. Finalists are then eligible for appointment as Presidential Management Fellows (Fellows; PMFs). The application will launch on November 18, 2016 and close on December 1, 2016. 1- Spring 2017 registration began, 2 Nov. If you have not done so, register for spring classes to ensure your seat in the courses you need to graduate. Review your plan in DegreeMAP and/or schedule an advisement session with Agnes Socrates if you are not sure what courses to take.

Registration in DNSC 6269 PM Application (Capstone) is not available via GWeb. To register, complete and submit a Registration Transaction Form to aesocrates@gwu.edu. The professor’s signature is not required, but you will need to enter all details for the course per the Schedule of Classes. Those in the DE section are required to participate in the residency week scheduled from 15-19 May, 2017.  University Commencement is on Sunday morning, 21 May, on the National Mall. Students are highly encouraged to attend all commencement activities after the residency week.

2- The 10th Circle Project is offering a semi-annual scholarship to all currently enrolled students at the George Washington University. This scholarship is merit based, requires an essay submission, and the winning applicant will receive $1,000 dollars towards costs of education. Apply by 1 December 2016. AAUW INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS

AAUW has a long and distinguished history of advancing educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe.  International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are supported.

Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree by September 30, 2016, and must have applied to their proposed institutions of study by the time of the application. Up to five International Master’s/First Professional Degree Fellowships are renewable for a second year.

Recipients are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to women and girls. Recipients return to their home countries to become leaders in business, government, academia, community activism, the arts, and sciences.

Who may apply: Women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents
