Message from New Administrative Director, Agnes Socrates

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the new Director for the GWSB Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM) program. As a recent MSPM program alumna, I have a strong interest in seeing the MSPM program continue to grow and prosper. Throughout my time as a student, I have grown very familiar with the program, including its faculty, staff and students. There is no greater honor than to have the opportunity to work with students like you, whom I regard with so much admiration for the unique experiences you bring to the program.

As your adviser, I wish to instill in you, an outlook in life that builds on the strength within yourself to conquer the journey to success. While I am fortunate to have met many of you at the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 orientations, I intend to meet
with you individually between now and August 2016 to map out a plan for your future semesters and to hear your feedback so we may continue to improve your experience with the program. My ultimate goal is to see you succeed and give you the best learning experience possible. For the graduating class, I will meet with you as a group for a feedback session in May. I am dedicated to connecting with current students and alumni so we may continue to attract exceptional students. My duties as Director will continue the work of my predecessor, Cambria Happ who has done a remarkable job running the program.

The MSPM program attracts high-caliber students from a wide variety of careers, background, cultures, and geographies. It’s been my experience that the program’s diversity is one of its strongest assets. My own professional background started in the Philippines where I worked on international development projects with USAID and the World Wildlife Fund. Since moving to the United States in 2004, I have taken on a series of increasingly advanced roles in academic administration at the University of Washington in Seattle and at the George Washington University. I look forward to sharing my 15 years of local and international experience to advise the MSPM students and work with faculty towards continued success in the fast-paced and ever evolving field of project management.
