•Online Section (DE) of DNSC 6234 Course Running as Scheduled, Campus Section (10) Cancelled
The online section (DE) of DNSC 6234 Procurement & Contracting will run as scheduled. The campus section (10), though, was cancelled. All students who were registered in the campus section were moved to the online section. Students may see updates via Blackboard or via email as Prof Easley prepares for the course. The lectures will be pre-recorded and posted by Prof Easley in the absence of the on campus lecture. Blackboard Collaborate sessions will provide interactive sessions with Prof Easley.
•Dr. Miguel Lejeune Teaching DNSC 6251
Dr. Miguel Lejeune will teach DNSC 6251 Optimization Models for Decision Making in place of Dr. Jarrah. The course will run as scheduled. The Blackboard Collaborate session day/time is under review. Updates will be provided shortly.
•Course Not Appearing on Blackboard Yet
Courses are not required to appear on Blackboard until the first week of the semester. Many professors may not make their course live on Blackboard until the first day of their class. For example, if the campus lecture is scheduled for Thursday, course may not appear until Thursday. Still concerned? Contact the professor directly for an update.
Remember, Blackboard is the not the correct source to confirm your course registrations. GWeb is the source of registration and schedule information.
Registration in DNSC 6269 Project Management Application (capstone) is not available via GWeb. To register, complete and submit a Registration Transaction Form to my attention via email, fax, or in person (Duques 550). The professor’s signature is not required, but you will need to enter all details for the course per the Schedule of Classes. Incomplete forms will be returned. Remember, registration in the DE section requires you to participate in the 5-day residency in DC (May 9-13). If you are local, register in section 10.

The MSPM program recently published a student handbook. The handbook serves as a resource to students, outlining program policies and procedures, and reminding all students of the policies and procedures of the George Washington University and the GW School of Business. As a reminder, all students are responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures, including those published in the University Bulletin, the School of Business Bulletin, and the MSPM Student Handbook.

The fall semester began yesterday. The courses will appear on Blackboard once the faculty make them available. In some instances this will not occur until the first lecture. Review the Blackboard Collaborate schedule on the blog if you are registered for the online section of a course. Textbook information is also on the blog. Specific questions about a certain course? The last day to add a course via GWeb is Friday, 11 Sep. If you plan to add a course, make the decision early to avoid missed lectures and/or assignments.

To confirm you fall schedule, log into GWeb and confirm your courses and class schedule via the Student Records & Registration Menu. This site provides your official registration details. Blackboard is not the site you should use to confirm this information. Most professors will not make the courses available on Blackboard until the first week of the semester, which begins August 31.
•GW New Venture Competition, Kickoff Meeting 10 Sep
Participate in the fifth largest collegiate business plan competition in the country. The competition provides a real-world, experiential learning opportunity in entrepreneurship. Winners of the competition can actually launch and operate their ventures while maintaining complete control of their business through the issuance of non-dilutive cash grants. •Ernst & Young Information Session, 17 Sep
EY is hosting an event specifically for MSPM students and alumni on Thursday, 17 Sep. Register to attend the session via GWork. During the session, the EY team will provide an overview of the firm’s Performance Improvement – Program Management practice area as well as a workshop on “how-to” respond to a consulting case interview. The team will be collecting resumes through GWorkSB and in-person at the event.

These live sessions are designed for the online/distance students to engage with their professors on a weekly basis, investigating the week’s lecture in more detail and asking any questions of the professor regarding the material or assignments.
