FDF Career Center: Resume Writing Labs for Non-English Writers

The F. David Fowler Career Center has two Resume Writing Labs for non-English writers scheduled in March and April. The session is open to all specialized masters students, but is focused on the needs of Chinese students:
Friday, March 25, 2016 2:00pm – 3:00pm
Friday, April 1, 2016  11:00am – 12pm
Students can view the information in GWorkSB (Events >> Workshops) and register for the labs.

The F. David Fowler Career Center is piloting a new online resume building platform. Will you help us test it out? Participating in the pilot program will ensure a perfectly formatted resume adhering to the GWSB standards, as well as detailed feedback from a graduate career coach on the content of your resume. Town Hall with Dean Livingstone, 27 Jan
Dean Livingstone will host a town hall tomorrow, 27 Jan, 6-7 p.m. EST in Duques Hall 353. The town hall is an opportunity to provide feedback on the specialized masters programs, the School of Business, and your experience at GW. A separate session will be scheduled for online students. A date and time will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

GWSB Career Fair, 30 Sep
Tomorrow is the GWSB Career Fair hosted by the F. David Fowler Career Center and sponsored by Macy’s, Aon, and Deloitte. Registration required via GWorkSB >> Events >> Career Fairs. Event takes place in Duques Hall from 12:30-4 p.m. Employers represented at the fair include M Powered Strategies, Kimpton Hotels, Under Armour, Raytheon, and the Sanofi Group. A full list of employers is available online.
M Powered Strategies is hiring graduate students in their Government Consulting Internship Program. Interns would work for 10-15 hours per week for either one or two semesters in a paid position. Apply online via http://goo.gl/forms/uYNKLtQwMU.

DreamSpark and Microsoft Project
The GWSB IT team is working to ensure MSPM students have access to DreamSpark and are able to download Microsoft Project. Once all accounts have been either created or renewed an update will be sent to all. For those enrolled in DNSC 6261 and DNSC 6262, Prof Jain is aware of the situation. An alternative means of accessing Microsoft Project is available through the Virtual Computer Lab.
3rd Annual GWSB Career Week, 8-11 Sep
The F. David Fowler Career Center is proud to host Career Week 2015 next week, 8-11 Sep. The programming prepares GWSB students to compete effectively in the employment market while networking and connecting with hiring decision makers. This event is open to all GWSB students. GWSB Short-Term Study Away Programs Announced for Winter & Spring 2016
The GWSB Global & Experiential Education team announced the winter and spring 2016 short-term study away programs last week. Interested in learning more about the courses and destinations? Attend the Short-term Study Away Information Session on Tuesday, 15 Sep, 6-7:30 p.m. in Duques Hall, room 251. For those not able to attend, the session will be recorded and posted online for all to view. The courses qualify as general elective options for the MSPM degree.

GWSB Career Week 2015

The F. David Fowler Career Center will host the 3rd  Annual  GWSB Career Week September 8 – 11, 2015 for all GWSB students.  The week will be filled with programming involving faculty, alumni and employers aimed at preparing GWSB students to compete effectively in the employment market while networking and connecting with hiring decision makers.  Employers will launch a frenzy of recruiting in late September through mid-November and again in late January through early May and our students must be ready.
Career Week programming will include industry and functional panels, one-on-one interviews with executives,alumni round-table sessions for international students, professional head shots, a LinkedIn clinic and an information session with The World Bank.
