Students are responsible for reviewing their record in GWeb to ensure they do not have any holds on their record that will prevent registration. Holds can prevent you from registering, adding or dropping classes, receiving transcripts, obtaining grades, or graduating. Holds are placed on student accounts for various reasons, such as money due to GW, the need to meet with your advisor, placement on probation, or unmet immunization requirements. •Audition to Speak or Sing at the GWSB Commencement Celebration, Apply by 26 Feb
Students eligible to participate in the May 2016 commencement are invited to audition to either speak or sing at the GWSB Commencement Celebration. Email firstname.lastname@example.org by 26 Feb to sign up for an audition time. Please be prepared to deliver a 3-5 minute commencement speech or to sing the National Anthem and Alma Mater.
•Scholarships for Spring 2016, 11 Dec Application Deadline The program will award five scholarships to current students, each in the amount of $4,000. Details on the application process, the guidelines, and criteria are available on the blog. Applications due on Friday, 11 Dec, by 6 p.m. EST. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
•Spring 2016 Course Updates Registration remains open for spring 2016 courses. Register via GWeb immediately to secure a seat in your required courses. Non-MSPM students on the wait list for core courses will be allowed to register December 15. Secure your seat before the seat is given to those on the wait list.

•GW Tourism Alumni Network Cocktails and Connections, 3 Dec
The GW Tourism Alumni Network invites all graduate students and alumni to their Cocktails and Connections event on Thursday, 3 Dec. The event will take place at Tonic, 2036 G St, NW, from 6-7 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided, register online to attend.

Students enrolled half- to full-time in a two- to four-year air traffic control program at an institution approved and/or licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration as directly supporting the FAA’s college and training initiative.
Category B – Lawrence C. Fortier Memorial Scholarship
Students enrolled half- to full-time in a program leading to a bachelor’s degree or higher in an aviation-related course of study.
Category C – Full-Time Employee Student Scholarship
Full-time employees enrolled in advanced study programs to improve their skills in air traffic control or an aviation discipline.
Category D – Buckingham Memorial Scholarship
U.S. citizen, children of air traffic control specialists enrolled half- to full-time in a program leading to a bachelor’s degree or higher.

•Fall Classes Not Appearing on Blackboard?
Are your fall classes not yet appearing on Blackboard? In most cases, they should not yet appear on Blackboard. Most professors will not open the class materials on Blackboard until the first week of the semester, which begins 31 Aug.
As a reminder, Blackboard is NOT where you should confirm your course registrations. Course registrations should always be confirmed in GWeb.
The Atlantic Council is seeking applications for the Take Point Initiative, a fellowship program open to veterans of the United States Armed Forces who are 35 years old and younger and who currently work in, or would like to transition to, careers in international policy. The program includes opportunities to network with potential employers and funders, deepen their substantive policy expertise, and build nonprofit and thought leadership skills over the course of an intensive ten-day fellowship program in Washington, DC planned for October 13 – 23, 2015. Additionally, the Council will award over $60,000 in grant funds to Take Point fellows to support their work. In turn, fellows will commit to using their training to help provide a voice for other young veterans in the foreign policy discourse, including injured veterans.

Lockers will be available to graduate students on a first-come first-serve basis in the fall 2015 semester. Lockers are located outside of the Graduate Lounge on the 5th floor of Duques Hall. Request a locker via http://goo.gl/z2AH8D. You may begin requesting lockers on the first day of the semester, 31 Aug, at 9 a.m. EDT, no earlier. Lockers are available for $35 per semester (small) or $65 per semester (large). Payment may be made via check or money order.

Applications and/or essays received with spelling errors, poor grammar, or formatting issues receive less consideration than those that exhibit graduate-level writing.

Friday, 31 Jul, is the last day to withdraw from a course with a grade of “W” using a Registration Transaction Form for Summer Session 2 classes. If you need to make a change in your schedule, plan ahead and take action before the deadline. Review the refund schedule to determine the refund amount.
