AY16-17 Tuition Rates Posted
The tuition rates for the 2016-2017 academic year were released and are available on the Student Accounts Office website. The per credit hour rate for summer 2016, fall 2016, and spring 2017 terms will be $1,600.

Summer 2016 STAP Application Deadline on 28 Feb
Sunday, 28 Feb, is the deadline to apply for one of the summer 2016 Short-Term Study Away Programs (STAP). Remember, the course must first be approved by your advisor, Cambria Happ. To learn more about the STAP programs, contact Lisa Brancheau, G&EE Assistant Director, at sbintl@gwu.edu.

Student Responsibilities: Holds
Students are responsible for reviewing their record in GWeb to ensure they do not have any holds on their record that will prevent registration. Holds can prevent you from registering, adding or dropping classes, receiving transcripts, obtaining grades, or graduating. Holds are placed on student accounts for various reasons, such as money due to GW, the need to meet with your advisor, placement on probation, or unmet immunization requirements. The Columbian Women of GW Scholarship, Applications Due 14 Mar
The Columbian Women of GW scholarship application period is now open. Each year, Columbian Women awards $90,000 in scholarships to women attending GW. Student Responsibilities: Continuous Enrollment
Students are responsible for knowing and following policies and procedures, which may be found in the University Bulletin, GWSB Bulletin section, and the MSPM Student Handbook. Per these sources, students are required to maintain continuous enrollment once they enter a degree program. A student is considered to be continuously enrolled when registered for courses through GW or when registered for an approved leave of absence. Enrollment required in fall and spring semesters, summer semester enrollment is not required. Failure to take such action requires students to make a formal application for reinstatement.

Summer 2016 Short-Term Study Away Programs, 28 Feb Application Deadline
Interested in earning general elective credits in Brazil, California, or Sweden this summer? Apply for one of the summer 2016 Short-Term Study Away Programs (STAP) by 28 Feb. Learn more by contacting Lisa Brancheau, G&EE Assistant Director, at sbintl@gwu.edu. STAP course must be approved by MSPM director prior to enrollment.

Audition to Speak or Sing at the GWSB Commencement Celebration, Apply by 26 Feb
Students eligible to participate in the May 2016 commencement are invited to audition to either speak or sing at the GWSB Commencement Celebration. Email gradspkr@gwu.edu by 26 Feb to sign up for an audition time. Please be prepared to deliver a 3-5 minute commencement speech or to sing the National Anthem and Alma Mater.

Resources for Success
The MSPM director serves as the academic advisor and staff resource for all MSPM students. Please contact your advisor with any questions regarding the program, degree requirements, room reservations within GWSB, scholarships, or any other matters pertaining to your degree.
Students are also responsible for understanding and complying with University, School, and MSPM Program requirements. Below is a listing of resources to assist in your success at GW (list is not exhaustive):

Summer 2016 Registration Opens 1 Mar
Registration for summer 2016 courses begins 1 Mar. Summer session I begins 16 May and summer session II begins 5 Jul. Review the DNSC course offerings via the Schedule of Classes. No core MSPM courses will be offered in summer 2016, only electives. Schedule an advisement session with me to discuss your options and to review your plan in DegreeMAP. Take action now to avoid schedule conflicts or delayed graduation.

  • DNSC 6290 Visualization for Analytics, Grover, campus only

Participate in F. David Fowler Career Center Pilot Program, 15 Students Needed
The F. David Fowler Career Center is piloting a new online resume building platform. Will you help us test it out? Participating in the pilot program will ensure a perfectly formatted resume adhering to the GWSB standards, as well as detailed feedback from a graduate career coach on the content of your resume. Get to Know the Spring 2016 Incoming Class
The bio book for the incoming spring 2016 class is available on the blog (password: gwmspm). The incoming class participated in orientation on campus on Friday, 8 Jan. Visit the GW PMA Facebook page for pictures from the bridge game.

DreamSpark
All MSPM students, including the new spring 2016 students, have access to DreamSpark. DreamSpark provides free downloads of Microsoft software, including Project. Instructions on downloading software from DreamSpark are available on the blog (password: gwmspm). If you are accessing DreamSpark for the first time, you will need to register/create an account using your @gwmail.gwu.edu email address.

Students may also download VM Fusion, helpful if using a Mac. VM Fusion simulates a Windows environment on Macs.

Add/Drop Deadlines
Looking add or drop a course? Be aware of the various add/drop deadlines. The Office of the Registrar provides all deadlines to be aware of as they relate to registration. 24 Jan is the last day to add a course on GWeb. 7 Feb is the last day to drop a course on GWeb. Be aware of the refund schedule, as well.
