GW Writing Center 2015 Summer Hours

The University Writing Center was able to arrange special-project funding from the Office of Online Learning and Academic Innovation, focusing primarily on students enrolled in GW’s online courses.

Hours of operation are Tuesday 2-8PM, Wednesday 12-6, and Thursday 12-6. Our summer session extends from Wednesday, June 3 to Thursday, August 13.

Scheduling can be handled through our online system at gwu.mywconline.comStudents currently have access to two appointments per week, with one hour of appointments per day. Appointments are available in 25- and 50-minute sessions. All conferencing appointments through the University Writing Center are available free to current members of the GW community.

Appointments for Students in Online Courses
Appointments for students enrolled in online courses–and we have a few of those this summer within the program–can be made up to one week (7 days) in advance. These meetings involve a collaborative discussion over the phone, of writing shared through e-mail. Students receive instructions for sending materials and contacting the Center upon making the appointment.

Appointments for Students in On-Campus Courses

Our funding agreement also allows us to offer appointments to students in on-campus courses, once we’ve allowed for priority scheduling for online students. Appointments for students taking face-to-face classes can be made within 48 hours before a given session and are also available on a walk-in basis, if openings remain.

General questions from students can be addressed via e-mail at gwriter@gmail.com. We will respond to e-mail during our operating hours.

Summer 2015 Electives

The MSPM program is not offering project management-specific electives in summer 2015, however the Decision Sciences Department is offering several electives from their business analytics program that may be of interest. National Fellowship Databases

Dear MSPM Students,

The top 3 items you need to know this week:

Vote for the 2014 Outstanding MSPM Faculty Award

Submit your vote before 12pm EDT on Friday, April 4, for the 2014 Outstanding MSPM Faculty Award. This is your opportunity to recognize your favorite professor for their contributions and dedication to MSPM students and the program.

Summer 2014 Registration – Distance Sections Almost Full

The distance sections of our summer course offerings are almost full. If your plan in DegreeMAP included attendance in the summer semester and you are limited to only distance courses, register immediately to claim your seat. If you are in the DC metro area and are able to attend the on campus sections, register accordingly.

If you have a financial hold on your account, you must resolve the outstanding balance with GW before you are able to register. The MSPM program office is not authorized to remove or bypass financial holds. If, however, you have an academic hold on your account, schedule an advisement session with me to discuss.

National Fellowship Databases

GW’s Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships provides access to national fellowship databases. MSPM students are encouraged to utilize databases, such as Grant Forward and Pivot, to seek out funding for your graduate education. Many scholarships and fellowships are not issued annually because students simply do not apply.
