•Summer 2016 Short-Term Study Away Programs, 28 Feb Application Deadline
Interested in earning general elective credits in Brazil, California, or Sweden this summer? Apply for one of the summer 2016 Short-Term Study Away Programs (STAP) by 28 Feb. •Audition to Speak or Sing at the GWSB Commencement Celebration, Apply by 26 Feb
Students eligible to participate in the May 2016 commencement are invited to audition to either speak or sing at the GWSB Commencement Celebration. Email email@example.com by 26 Feb to sign up for an audition time. Please be prepared to deliver a 3-5 minute commencement speech or to sing the National Anthem and Alma Mater.
•Town Hall with Dean Livingstone, 27 Jan
Dean Linda Livingstone will host a town hall on Wednesday, 27 Jan, 6-7 p.m. EST in Duques Hall 353. The town hall is an opportunity to provide feedback on the specialized masters programs, the School of Business, and your experience directly to Dean Livingstone. We hope that you can attend.
A separate session will be scheduled for online students. A date and time will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

•New Student Orientation Slides

•Get to Know the Spring 2016 Incoming Class
The bio book for the incoming spring 2016 class is available on the blog (password: gwmspm). The incoming class participated in orientation on campus on Friday, 8 Jan. Visit the GW PMA Facebook page for pictures from the bridge game.
All MSPM students, including the new spring 2016 students, have access to DreamSpark. DreamSpark provides free downloads of Microsoft software, including Project. Instructions on downloading software from DreamSpark are available on the blog (password: gwmspm). If you are accessing DreamSpark for the first time, you will need to register/create an account using your @gwmail.gwu.edu email address.
Students may also download VM Fusion, helpful if using a Mac. VM Fusion simulates a Windows environment on Macs.
Looking add or drop a course? Be aware of the various add/drop deadlines. The Office of the Registrar provides all deadlines to be aware of as they relate to registration. 24 Jan is the last day to add a course on GWeb. 7 Feb is the last day to drop a course on GWeb. Be aware of the refund schedule, as well.
•Online Section (DE) of DNSC 6234 Course Running as Scheduled, Campus Section (10) Cancelled
The online section (DE) of DNSC 6234 Procurement & Contracting will run as scheduled. The campus section (10), though, was cancelled. All students who were registered in the campus section were moved to the online section. Students may see updates via Blackboard or via email as Prof Easley prepares for the course. The lectures will be pre-recorded and posted by Prof Easley in the absence of the on campus lecture. Blackboard Collaborate sessions will provide interactive sessions with Prof Easley.
•Dr. Miguel Lejeune Teaching DNSC 6251
Dr. Miguel Lejeune will teach DNSC 6251 Optimization Models for Decision Making in place of Dr. Jarrah. The course will run as scheduled. The Blackboard Collaborate session day/time is under review. Updates will be provided shortly.
•Course Not Appearing on Blackboard Yet
Courses are not required to appear on Blackboard until the first week of the semester. Many professors may not make their course live on Blackboard until the first day of their class. For example, if the campus lecture is scheduled for Thursday, course may not appear until Thursday. Still concerned? Contact the professor directly for an update.
Remember, Blackboard is the not the correct source to confirm your course registrations. GWeb is the source of registration and schedule information.

•Register for Spring 2016 Courses
Registration for spring courses has been open since 9 Nov. Register immediately to secure a seat in required courses. Available seats will be released to non-MSPM students on the wait list next week. Please also note that two campus sections were already cancelled due to low enrollment. Sections with less than 16 students enrolled are subject to cancellation. Register now to save a section and a seat.
•Business & Society Course, Study Away in DC, 6-9 Jan 2016
An exciting accelerated course elective is available for Spring 2016. MBAD 6290.10 Business & Society (3 credits, CRN 74642) is a four day on-campus course held 6-9 Jan. If you are interested, submit a Registration Transaction Form to request a seat. Seats are limited.
•MSPM Student Handbook 2015-2016
AA new resource was made available to students at the start of the fall semester. The MSPM Student Handbook provides information on policies, procedures, and links to other university resources and information. If you are not familiar with the handbook, cozy up over break and dig in.
The Mexico Institute seeks Spring 2016 interns. There are three different intern positions. Applications should be received no later than November 15, 2015. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Language ability in both English and Spanish preferred. International students on F-1 and J-1 visas eligible to apply.
