MSPM in the KNOW: December 12, 2017

Top 3 for 12 December 2017

1- Fall 2017 Capstone Residency Week. We welcome MSPM students enrolled in DNSC 6269 Capstone (DE) for the residency week here at GWU Foggy Bottom Campus. Capstone is the culmination of students’ academic experience in the MSPM program. It has the cumulative learning content of all the other courses in the MSPM curriculum. Students learn to integrate all they learned from day one and demonstrate their ability through their capstone projects. Previous capstone students have produced handbooks for managing Ocean Cleanup Project, Mars project, UN-assisted elections, and the like. The residency week allows distance learning students to present their final work. All the best to each one of you as you make the final push for your Capstone presentations!

2- Spring 2018 Registration. Reminder, registration for Spring 2018 is ongoing. All current students must be either enrolled in coursework or on an approved Leave of Absence (LOA) no later than 15 January 2018. Students are expected to self-register for courses via GWeb. Questions about registration? Schedule an advisement session with Agnes Socrates via www.meetme.so/gwmspm (include your GWID).

3- Thank you to those who attended the JPSS-1: Post Launch Celebration last Friday, 8 December, featuring Robert (Bob) Estes. It was a good mix of attendees: current and incoming students, alumni, faculty, staff and non-GWU affiliated guests. Bob did a wonderful job with his presentation highlighting application of project management in scientific research and development. MSPM alumna, Kim Hurst (’17), provided JPSS giveaways for the event. The GWPMA table staffed by Ishai Trani (VP Elect) encouraged guests to assemble a paper model of the weather satellite project to win a t-shirt.  Check out photos posted on our facebook page.
